the air-pump mount is a little to far forward to use as a primary support, plus the aluminum waterpump casting there is prone to breaking.

that leaves the intake itself and the engine mount.

If it were built correctly you could use all of those points as a mount, and it'd be a little easier than trying to work with that engine mount, but I was just quickly guessing. From what I was looking at yesterday on my N/A it'd be pretty easy to build a bracket for it. Ahh well, I turboed it, so I took the 'easy' way out :)

It's OK, the stock FPR will work under boost as well as vacuum.

However the vacuum line to the FPR must be the same vacuum as seen at the injector tips. (after the throttle - same as stock)

Above poster is correct, all the vacume line going to the FPR is doing is to equalise the pressure in the fuel rail and the intake manifold so as to achieve close to the same effective fuel pressure.

Ie, fuel rail at 0 vacume is at 40psi under idle loads/vacume it would be ~30psi, under boost it'd be ~50psi.. The stock one rises linearly, 1psi of extra fuel rail pressure per pound of boost in the intake manifold (similarly under vacume aswell, but the opposite, obviously.. :) )
(plucked some numbers outa my arse there since I don't even know the base fuel rail pressure.)

hey guys sorry i havnt been on no access.
during vacation i made a new idler bracket, got my new idler on, and painted all pullies and baked them at 300 degrees.

The reason the car boged in the vid is because it was ice cold, it had sat at school all day. I shot the vid between classes and only had three mins. I didnt let it warm up at all. that is why there is a little smoke in the vid also.

here is something else very interesting you should all know also. Before i had my s/c on, at any shifts above 6500rpm i had a nice puff of blue smoke out the back, (worn oil control rings) but now with the s/c i dont have any noticable smoke at all! even at redline shifts. why is this, is it because the boost in the combustion chamber doesnt let the oil in or what, I dont know why but i know i like it

Here are some pics of my progress. The pics are shity , but it looks very nice in person. Also, soon i am going to shoot a vid from outside of a run and also one in the inside so you can see the boost, tach and speedo.

You guys think it would be possible to add a pulley on the main shaft and shift the charger forward a tad? I like PS and am trying to figure out a spot to run the charger off.

I suppose off topic, but as an alternative, what about mounting the SC on the drivers side where the power steering/ A/C bracket goes (went), mounting the TB under the SC with a 90 degree bend (with battery relocation and switching intake and AFM to opposite side), with output off the top running through a top mounted TII intercooler (maybe with a fan), then back down into a modified (sans TB) intake?

Rotard timing, run a rising rate FPR, SAFC, decent exhaust, wire/remove 6 ports, consider new fuel pump and injectors as necessary. Then blow engine, consider rebuid vs. TII block with S5 n/a rotors, porting and aftermarket fuel/ignition management.

Thinking this would provide stable mounting, limit surge (with bypass valve), maximize validity of AFM readings (prior to new computer), provide an IC but minimize decrease in throttle response. Drawbacks would be PITA to get at sparkplugs and potential to cook ignition wiring. Not a whole lot of thought, just procrastinating/fantasizing.

Any ideas?

How did you connect the intake and outlet piping to the SC? it looks like u used some type of adhesive.. I was wondering if a custom gasket would work as well?

What more information do you need? This is the 4th time someone's posted asking for more information yet there's no more needed. Everything has been discussed and answered already.

DEZERTE: it looks like he just used an assload of RTV sillicone to seal the flanges he made to the SC. You could easily cut out gaskets to do the same thing.

dude zbrown just do a write up youll make about 100 bucks... shit i woudl do it in a sec.! 10 fc owners can send you 10 bucks vi apaypal... i mean it seems liek at least 4 balllers already bought the supercharger so help them out... plus your name will increase like your n/a rx-7!!!

hrm... I've been doing some reading about supercharging our 7's and have ran across some info mentioning dramatically increased wear on one of the bearings because of the supercharger pulling the eshaft in its direction... anyone know anything about this? I want to supercharge too( I have just about everything I need except injectors, header, and supercharger plus little bits like hoses and scrap metal)

edit: I also have a stock TII intercooler(need a hood... hehe) and I was wondering if I used that, would heat soak negate any gains?(or is heatsoak just a problem when not moving?)

The video doesn't work anymore, i've already tried it. This project is awesome, there are (as always) room for improvements. Still awesome...just awesome. Hopefully by fall I'll be able to start a similar project. This summer i need to fix the cosmetics of the car.

Okay, vid works. Z, I would still love to have a few pics of that mounting bracket if you ever get a chance to pull it out. I know you're working on a T2 intake manifold setup now but if you get a chance... :D
