is my n/a on its last leg?

ok i have a 87 n/a and it has bad flooding probs, when i go to start the car it takes about 2 - 2-1/2 secs of turn it over before it starts if i let off before it cranks fully it floods will not start i have to get out and pull the fuse to start it up, but it holds idle like a champ no smoke AT ALL , no power loss runs very strong, could i have a leaky injector ? or what else could b causing this? or is it just the rotary life..

Thanks James

If these are the only problems you are having with your car then I'd say that the engine is fine and the injectors are leaking.

You could try setting up a fuel cut-off switch; I'm not for sure if it would help if your injectors are leaking though.
My car has started flooding lately too (90 gxl) but it is because the compression is dropping (front is okay, rear is close to nothing). It runs fine and doesn't smoke at all on startups. Though the coolant disappears out the coolant resiveor overfill cap and I've got bubbles in it when I crank it over.
Anyways; if you have no other problems I'd say you might want to get your injectors looked at or at the very least try the fuel cut off switch and see if it fixes your problem.
Good luck.
