So basically I was wondering what your guy's opinion is on this jspec motor. Here's a link to the video: http://home.comcast.net/~o2o22o2o/rx7_running.wmv
As you can see, it barely responds to throttle inputs, smokes quite profusely, and the engine shakes like a ****. The only relevant codes that its throwing is narrow range TPS, and 02 sensor.

yea, it sounds like a chipped or cracked apex seal....if you were to spit one or two out, it would sound more like lawn mower.... that is if it didnt bust the blades on the turbo causing it to barely spin and not give the motor enough air, if that was the case, it would just not idle at all or idle reallllly low

change your plugs. if you are not getting spark it will sound just like that.
also pump the gas and try to nurse it up to about 6k, and hold it there for a while. if it is a fouled plug or a carboned apex it will start to sputter then run ok.
whatever you do, just **** with it for a few hours before you listen to all these guys on here who tell you its blown. it could be blown, but that doesnt mean it is.

Had same issue with non turbo turned out to be leading plug. pftt. car actually ran and felt like it had no back pressure sputtering like a pig with no accell at all. 1.49 for ngk and whoya. lol!
and also check your o2 sensor wire. Mine was burnt bt header when I had that sound. it may have had nothing or everything to do with it who knows. But always check the stupid **** first.
Have you done any mods right before this happened?
Has it been sitting for a long time?
Were you racing the crap out of it when it happened? (ANd whats your mods if racing is the case)
But obviously its only running on one rotor. COuld be many little things. Start by making sure the "dead" rotor is getting spark and fuel.

sounds like an ignition problem. running on one rotor it will run better than that. I broke all 3 apex seals on my front rotor one time, and I drove home on the rear rotor and still made 8psi of boost.
Fouled plugs. If you drive the car under load and take it to redline, it should clean the fuel off your plugs.
My car does the same thing in the morning, I really need to get my Microtech tuned.

compression check. It does sound blown but you could also be surprised by a bad injector or bad wiring or something like that.
My engine has ran on one rotor before but it had more ***** then that. It came to be a injector-o-ring. It was found very quickly since fuel was pouring all over the ground
My old engine blew the rear and that also has more ***** then that and I drove it 1 hour back home spitting fire out the back at the old people riding my ***
