I have similiar situation, not the smoke though. Got adjusted nicely, but had 8, 12, 18 on trouble codes. Got another AFM and TPS from junkyard. Just put in AFM, and TPS shortly. Let you know.

My check engine light was not on either, I just tested for codes stored because I recently got the car. Are you checking for codes, or just don't see engine light on? I'm still new, so hopefully we can help each other, and someone more knowledgeable will step in.

Well, I put the "new MAF" in, and definetely better, but still have trouble codes 12 & 18. 4th of July and didnt get to that. I dont know any more, but maybe someone can give some extra info. From what Ive read, and what I have personally learned so far, a lot of my problems are related to vaccum leaks, and the TPS. So read up, and Ill let you know about my advancement on this issue tomorrow.
