is my hot side trash?

i just took my turbo apart to port the wg a little and i foud that a crack has formed on the inside of the turbine housing all the way accross it and it looks kinda bad. also before i took the turbo apart the thing spun fine but no that it is apart it wont hardly spin at all and kinds sounds like sand paper.... im gessing that is no good. this is a used s4 stock turbo and i have never run it before. does it sound like my turbo is junk? any help would be great thanks guys

As long as the crack isn't to the outside - which can cause an exhaust leak - it should be fine.
Also, if there are crackS that look like a piece of the turbine housing will fall out, then you should scrap it too!

In this thread there is a pic of my cracked s4 turbo. From what I've read they all crack at somepoint. If the hotside is not put back on then you may get a sandpaper grinding sound from the turbo.
