The FAQ has fuse box diagrams for the car. It also has links to the Factory Service Manual with full fuel pump troubleshooting procedures.

There are some interlocks that you should be aware of too. Fuel pump wont run unless certain conditions are met.

Your car is starting, running, or the fuel pump check connector is jumped and the key is in the On position.

The fuel system has a safety interlock that will inhibit the fuel pump if there is no signal from the AFM stating the engine is running. HOWEVER, this isnt too good for starting, so while you are in the start process, the AFM interlock is bypassed in order to get the engine running. Once you move the key back to "run" the ECU looks to the AFM to ensure the engine is running. If it is, the fuel pump is left on.

OR

You can jumper the yellow test connector by the passenger side strut tower. This will enable the fuel pump to run whenever the key is in the "on" position.

How do you know your fuel pump isn't working?

I would jump the yellow connector by the left strut tower and turn the key on and listen carefully to the injectors. If you don't hear anything, then there is something wrong with the fuel system.

Th injectors won't make any sound during this process.

go to the hatch area and listen for the hissing of the fuel pump, if not first check the EGI fuses in the main fuse box on drivers side strut.

Under what conditions does it not make that sound??

a. Standing next to the car with the key in your pocket?

b. With the key in the ignition and the key turned to ON?

c. Same as b above, but with the fuel pump check connector jumpered.

If you selected a or b, then the pump won't be running. Shouldn't run.

IF you selected c, then the pump should run.

The pump will run under the following conditions:

1. Any time the key is HELD to Start. Note the word HELD.

2. Any time the key is to ON and the fuel pump check connector is jumpered. Note the word JUMPERED.

3. Any time the engine has actually started and the key has returned from Start to ON.
