MN my first T2 for $1650

Well, i found a nice T2 for a nice price. black, red interior, bone stock as far as my eyes saw. they were letting it go for $1999. but they were willing to chop it down a little. tires were getting bad, hail damage from who knows when, a rather large dent and rust bubbling up on the driver side door, rust on the window things, sunroof still fully operational with no rust, and car has been sitting for 10 years!! also, all the wipers were working.

i went to test drive yesterday, it felt good and great. turbo spooling strong... backtracking, i found there was no PS(power steering). it's a keeper for sure. but what can i say, the owner wasnt there to sell it to me. it was his wife's sister. i'm just glade it wasnt a beat down T2.

hopefully, when i get it i'm going to get all the fluids flushed and change the battery and so much more. this is a T2 in restoration.

sadly, after buying this T2. i have to bid farewell to my beloved first 88 RX7 GTU NA... but i'm going to take my s5 tail lights and h4 ebay headlight conversion off and put it on the T2. maybe even my tokiko and tein springs... but the T2 springs were still pretty good.

just a few this i either forgot or overlooked on the T2. a switch by the arm rest. its a little white stick switch. i hear some mechanical thing but i have no clue what it is.

and the little extra coolant tank under the hood. i was told you need extra antifreeze in it because the turbo 2 heats up a lot. but i dont recall any of that...

The white switch sounds custom. Probably the fuel pump cut off.

PICS!

"Extra coolant tank under hood." There may be a cold start assist tank. Is it nearer the firewall on the left side of the engine bay?

yes it is! it is by the firewall on the left side.

well, i suppose i'll continue my search on that switch.. it may be the fuel pump cut off switch... but i seem to have seen this on the forum somewhere before... it may just be me though. thanks!

You can get rid of that cold start assist coolant tank. Even Mazda issued letters (back in the day) to new owners that it didn't work, and it could be removed. Test that white switch. Start the car and have it run, then flip the switch. If the engine dies, then now you know!

Mine came out of hibernation long enough for a heart transplant and went back in already. Got to drive it all of about 10 miles over the summer. LoL.

Come spring the only thing that will be any different between my S5 GTU and a turbo S5 is the VIN.
