My First RX-7

Its lookin pretty good for me and buying my first 7. Its a 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II. I found it in the Want-Ads. $4800/BO and it comes with a second turbo engine(minus the wiring harness) a driveshaft, strutbar, turbo timer, 17 inch rims, cat back exhaust, and he said there was more that just wasnt listed. In the car i believe its completely stock. It sounds like this was going to be a project car, but money or time ran low and it was time to sell. its in great condition, and i cant wait to go test drive it. I havent seen the interior yet but he described it as "immaculate." we will see this sunday when i go down to check it out. Ill take a bunch more pictures then, but this is what i have so far...

Only exterior pictures but he said there are only 2 small dings on the hood that you can only see in a certain light. everything seems good as of now, and im hoping it works out.

ALSO....

Passenger Door Power Window Button - MISSING (whats that like 2 dollars?)
small exhaust leak (thats why it comes with cat-back exhaust) the catalytic converter was checked and it wasnt leaking....
those 2 small dings in the hood...

If thats all thats wrong with an 87 i will be very happy (and surprised) but im so excited because i love the second gen 7's and cant wait to own one...(except the whole gas mileage thing...)

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. i read the what to look for when buying a turbo rx7 and im gonna go do some of those tests when i look at it this sunday. i think its a great deal just because of the second engine. it was imported as a rebuild from Japan Direct. it has less than 50,000 miles.

i need all the advice possible so whatever you can tell me will help.

Yo! That looks pretty nice!! $4800 seems a little steep but if it is all good then why not? Go 4 it!! Welcome to the club. Those extras could really be a fair value or not. It's only $$$$ & life is short.... get a 7

hey sounds like a good deal, also sounds kinda steep too me. i'd probably pay 4300. make sure he has the reciepts for the "second turbo motor". from what i heard those imported engines either come blown or come like as if u bought a brand new rebuild. this engine sounds like its a good one though.

best of luck to you, and if it doesnt work out no worries just have patiences.
