Talking My First Rx-7!!!!!!!!!!

I have finally got my first rx7 and i love it. and i got such a good deal on it. its a 89 s/5 gtu w/ upgraded turbo II brakes in the front, intake, 3" cs single exhaust, no cat, and a atkins stage 2 street port motor with about 25,000 miles on it, all emissions have been removed. theres only a few things wrong with it that it needs rear suspension and a new 5 spd tranny. all in all i paid $1,500 for it. the werid thing is that it studers at in between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm i have no clue what is causeing this neither does my friend that i bought it from. i am replacing all the lntake manifold gaskets and some of the block off plates. trying to see if that helps and i am also gonna buy a new or used tps and see if that does the trick. but i would like some input on what could be wrong.

thanx in advance travis

Congrats on the car, how are you gonna get through inspection w/out the cats? Is the car already tagged or something or do you have one waiting just for that purpose?

As for the hesitation I would do a search on 3800 rpm stumble (might be the problem). I'm sure you'll find every possible hesitationt here is if you use the search function. Also check out the archives at the top of the page and you'll learn a lot.

Welcome to the world of the 7 . Glad to have you here.

Damn, I wish someone would rid the emissions testing here in California. BUT, they make wayyy too much money off it so I'm sure it won't ever happen.
