and yes, the car DOES make you speed. you wouldn't drive mom's minivan like if it was a 7, would you? my turbo vert with a T70 got VERY good gas mileage going to sevenstock from las vegas.. i had a lil more then half a tank going from vegas to barstow this last year.. but I barely was even touching the gas the way over there.. if you start slowing down.. touch the gas, the turbo spools and carrys you right back up to speed |
i raced a b18 hatch...its a pretty close race but he had me, they dont really pull all that good above 60mph....so maybe a good roll?
good luck Aaron |

nah it was a b18c1 GSR motor...im not impressed. well than again every other honda guy thinks he's got the best motor..."it redlines at 9000+" w/e man. it was a nice car but compared to my 13b it wasnt very impressive. just my .02

Vtecs arent God! just because they have it dont mean theyll beat anything.. I can play with a GSR with a B18C1 after it hits Vtec. ive played with a Type R that had a B18C5. and 3rd gear is that special gear for Rotaries :) I personally think a NA FC has a good chance with a GSR with some light mods and a good driver. a TII FC i wouldnt even waste my time racing an integra |
:rlaugh: this thread delivers.
in NA or TII, I wouldn't waste my gas with a HONDA. aN NA with bolt-ons and a bad clutch can kill a honda!!! maybe even with non-working 5th and 6th ports!! well, maybe not but you get the picture. hondas are awesome DD cars but that's all they're good for. |

gotta love the 35+ mpg.
the 7>>:balls: <<<honda |
For the record, you can shift where you like, a GSR w/out any sort of transmission mods is going to fall out of VTEC for a brief period w/ the switch from 1st to 2nd. A lot of GSR owners even talk about "why would Honda do that?" =P

NA engines take LOTS of modifying to get to the 200 HP range. My KA24de was fairly modified and it was around 150 rwhp with exhaust, custom intake, header, ignition etc... And whoever said that an FC has more pull then an integra (or a Camry for that matter...) in low RPMs doesnt know what theyre talking about. Mine feels like its asleep untill about 2500 RPM till about 7000RPM. I like my car just as much as everyone else but NA 2 rotors just arent very fast. And besides, if you have to ask how to make an NA car faster maybe you should be street racing... Ok, you have no right to to tell someone they shouldn't be street racing to complain about the body code of a car when you think a TII Rx-7 can't hang with a 300ZX TT. I'm pretty sure there are more than enough FC's on this forums within the 11-10 second 1/4 Times. You need to refrain that statement. Here's J-Rat's 10th anny TII https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/new-et-11-116-%2Avid%2A-598048/ Is the video not enough? https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/first-time-track-11-66%40120-579206/ Ok so FC TII's that run 11.66 1/4 times aren't fast enough to touch a 300zx TT? Your KA24 truck piston motor with a 2.4 liter rating has 1.1 more of displacement than a 1.3 liter 13B. So don't you feel special that you need that much more dispacement to put down what a healthy modded NA should put down? Oh yeah, and an Rx-8 has a better chance of beating a 300zx TT? http://www.modernracer.com/mazdarx8.html  Maybe you should stick with your truck motor and your camry forum. |
I beat a hondata/exhaust GSR in my n/a S5 by 3 cars, so it's possable.

I meant sad, not funny... sorry for the typo. :djcelebra PS: Didn't the VC30DETT mak at 300hp and 283tq, not 320hp and 300tq. And added a shit load more weight to an even heavier car? My friend has one and he calls it a whale.. |
you should have left it. And we established that the Z31 is the turbo and the z32 is TT.
It's not the best car ever but it's one of the 90's supercars of japan (IMHO) along with the 3000GT VR4 TT Supra TT and RX7 TT and no and NA cannot and will not keep up with any of those. A TII will need plenty of mods and weight redux to keep up and/or beat them. J-rat's car will kill them STOCK. If all the cars were modded the same way then we're back to square one. don't race a honda. It's like taking candy from a retarded baby. It's just wrong, but you can't stop laughing. I drive an NA everyday and I can honestly tell you that it's quick but not FAST enough to kill a TT anything. The turbo with mild mods cannot keep up either. Some of us are realistic and won't lie and say this car can kill everything. PHX- "I park in the handicap spaces, while the handicap ppl make handicapped faces." |

The VC30DETT(which was a z32, z31 was the 1st gens) made 300hp and 283tq And added more weight to an already heavier car from it's 1st gen make. My friend has one and he calls it a whale. 2. your sizing up two diff totally cars... FC 1986-1991USA S5160hp 200hp 300zxTT late1990-1996USA 300hp Plus we have all seen what happens to twin turbos factory made. They make great power from the factory floor, but when you upgrade the shit out of them it's best to go with a big single turbo setup the size of a new born baby. An N/A FC without full bridgeport+ AND nos won't beat a 300zxTT, but a T66 bridgeport TurboII would eat the shit out of it. I had a S5 as follows... Bridgeported full custom exhaust straight 2.5 pipe 550 secondary injectors safc fireball hi-6 koyo radiator HKS filter I kept up with my friends 300zxTT pretty good like a car or two, so I see no probelm for the same mild mods on a turboII spanking it. But he's also a fatty, so. |

Oh and with just the real "bolt-on" term used an S5 would only be making around 145-155whp, that's what we got when me and my friend Dynoed our S5's with just intake and full exhuast done. Oh and stickers.) N/A RX7 can't beat 300zx with just boltons, unless it's using the V8 bolt-on kits by grannyspeed or something. Hell if you define bolt-ons as nothing to do with the engine which is not true, bolt-ons are what they mean, bolt-ons. Parts that can be bolted on without new gaskets, draining, cutting, or special tools. Which in this case not alot is optioned to be bolt-ons for a rotary N/A that gives nice power like turbocharged cars gain, so I think that's alittle unfair terms. I would say with bolt-ons with nothing higher than a extended streetport would be in the more fair range for a guess-ta-mation on rwhp vs etc. Atleast 7/10 people who have n/a's on this forums atleast have a street port or a fresh nice rebuild. PS: Bolt-ons would NOT include piggyback's or turning up boost, like that 350whp 300zx. Last time I checked you don't need bolt's to install them, just to mount them after cutting and wiring and tuning, etc. |
Get an s4 sport, bridgeport that, get a haltech, racing beat true duals, and maybe you'll round up enough ponies to take a stock z32.
I have a sport, but that sucker's staying stock and emissions legal! The T2 however.... is not gonna be Earth-friendly. |
I had a custom bat-back exhaust, and just a cone filter on my 86 gxl when I had it. I ended up beating my buddy in the 1/8th against a 98 gsr, and he had k&n intake, and greddy cat-back

I think my s4 na would beat a gsr but i have yet to race one
my mods are as follows : 1. Streetported engine from rotary resurrection , all intake ports ported, exhaust diffuser cut out 2. racingbeat header , straight pipe (no cat), borla catback exhaust (2.5" before y pipe, dual 2" after) 3. lightweight steel racingbeat flywheel (7 lbs lighter than stock), centerforce dual friction clutch, all new mazdaspeed motor and tranny mounts 4. removed 5/6 ports, ported throttlebody, k&n intake, bonez maf adapter, corksport intake kit with exhaust heat wrap around it 5. removed a/c, power steering, air pump, all emissions/emissions rack, and interior rugs , have no spare tire either 6. magnecore 8.5 mm sparkplug wires, redline synthetic tranny and diff fluid (although i have an open diff) 7. kumho ecsta spt 205 50 15" tires, dtss eliminators, front strut bar I'm assuming I have 180-190+ hp , I know it could be alot more if I had the car tuned with an safc or some kind of fuel controller on a dyno with a wideband. |

i would say do intake, exhaust, TB MOD, relatively cheap and easy mods. not saying your goin to beat the gsr but the best chance u have is to beat the driver. out of the 10 or so gsr's in my town only 2 of the drivers can really drive, and to be honest seeing some of the other guys, i was somewhat in shock that they drove so bad, so the average wanna be racer buys a honda, and those guys that dont know what theyre doing and try to take the "easy" way out and buy the most common car, usually dont know what theyre doing and take a month to shift. i beat a 97 (i think) gsr with rails, header, exhaust, intake and a turbo civic with boltons @9psi in my lightly modded first gen, not cuz my car was faster, but seriously, those 2 kids shifted so slow i almost went to sleep. a friend of mine also beat the turbo civic in his stock saturn sc2 5spd, so that jus goes to show u with a retard drivin u can beat them, goodluck
