Thumbs down My FC failed smog. :,(

I'm from california and i failed the emissions test because "my idle, vacuum leak? and smokey when rev'd high".. i changed spark plugs and wires and the idle to change.. it would misfire. maybe i over-torqued them? ... as for vaccuum.. idk im lost.

Have you replaced your old crusty vacuum lines with new silicone ones?

As to the "smokey", that could be one or more of several things.

How were your measured hydrocarbons?

Fc has a basic system. Perhaps you can start with a bit more use able information. Series rx7,n/a or turbo, and a screen shot of your emissions test

Go to Frequently Asked Questions and click on Emissions. You'll see J-rats procedure for passing smog. Its kind of a last-resort procedure but evidently, it works.

if he was talking about a vacuum leak, maybe the idle was too unstable for him to get a test done. So troubleshoot the idle. Otherwise, you need to scan the results sheet so we can see what it failed.
