is my fc an auto to manual swap?
I've recently noticed that my clutch and brake pedal bracket looks brand new....
So my question: is there anyway to tell an original auto s5 vert ??............I've tried vin but I don't think it tells trans
I'd like to know because I'm doing a tranny swap assuming I need an s5 manual trans and do t want to find out I have a s4 drive shaft or whatever they rigged up during questioned swap.
Thanks in advance

look at the transmission mounts, the automatic is longer, so the mounts are further back, which means a swap takes fabrication.

Will Take picture for you guys when It quits storming .......
I know my tranny mounts are shot 1st and 2nd gear are boucy as hell
I also noticed im missing a nut on the main tranny mount towards the back its just a bolt sticking down threw though mount I'm sure that has somthing to do with bouncy-ness...hopefully not a dodgy made mount......
Will take pics either tonight or in morning

Depends on how thorough of a swap they did. For instance, if I really wanted to, I could weld on the manual trans chassis mounts, recover with undercoating spray and you'd never know it wasn't stock. Most of the time there would be leftover wiring plugs at the shifter area for what used to be the automatic shifter, and there would be the ignition release cable from the shifter to the ignition switch. Most of the time they'd still leave the stock cluster, and the s5 will have the PRND2L and HOLD lights in the 7k tach.

Can't tell anything about the DS from the pics.
Most DS's have a metal dust shield at the front yoke that covers the transmission end for a few inches. Not all stock DS's had that, but most did. Looks like yours is missing that. It doesn't do anything regardless, but it COULD be an indicator of a stock replacement shaft.
Unless it has replaceable ujoints it is nothing special. The stock ujoints are recessed in their holes and staked in 3 or 4 places...replaceable joints would probably sit flush with the edge of the hole, may have writing engraved in them, and may even have a grease fitting in the center of the cross.
