my exhaust...
im thinking about replacing my stock exhaust sometime in the future.
I was jsut wondering, is there a huge performance difference between the road race and streetable systems? Id like to be able to do it piece by piece (ie, header & presilencer first, then Y pipe and mufflers) but thats quite difficult with the road race series.
I think ill get a streetable header & collector with a presilencer first. then ill get a new y pipe and either racing beat or some other aftermarket mufflers... sound good?

i dont thing there is much of a difference except on the road race header you need two 02 sensors and having the tru dual will cost more money and make you more confuse since racing beat sais to use 2 presilencers from the 84 to 86 13b

right then. well thats good.
how much of a performance gain do you think I will expereince by replacing the header and cats with the rb header/collector and presilencer? how is it going to sound with the stock mufflers on there?
*can I spit fire yet!? :P*

well here is the thing with the street header and presilencer it has a backpressure pipe to open your aux ports but when you have tru dual you need 2 presilencers and then you have to connect both of the bacpressure pips to your car so i dont see the point of it i was going to do the same but im going with the street header. the performance will be the same

i just ordered the rb road race system. header all the way back. unfortunately, i wont be able to tell you performance gains when i get it because its a new engine and the car hasnt run for a couple of years.
ill let you know how it goes though.

when i put in my presilencer and cat replacement pipe from RB i noticed a nice difference, especially at higher speeds
the pull is real nice from around 40-100, noticable...basically cause there's no cats
this is on a S4 N/A

cool. I also have an s4 n/a.
how restrictive are the stock mufflers? how big of a difference would it make by replacing them with the racing beats? (other than sound diffs)

Save your lunch money. Buy the full road race system. It's gorgeous & sounds great. Nice increase in power from 5 to 7k rpm's. It's expensive but seemed worth it to me. I did the k&N intake kit at the same time. Be aware that U need a Cold Air Box to realize the gains of this setup. I have seen posts that show a net LOSS of HP with out the CAB. I haven't done my CAB yet but still noticed real gains. The beautiful RR cans make the rest of my ride look like ***.
The only problems have been a lack of 2 bolts for the Y-pipe supports & the fact that the presilencer hangs about an 1 3/4" lower than everything else. I also purchased a full exhaust hanger kit & header gasket. The header came with an ACV block-off plate (& bolts) even though the description of the RR system states that an ACV block-off plate is required. The sound was much quieter than I had anticipated but still roared very nicely when I got on the throttle. After three other bastardized exhaust setups I am finally very happy.
