It'll likely be a lot easier to adapt something from a Mazda, for instance I've read that a 1" 929 MC fits on an S5 TII booster.

I believe scathcart has performed that swap. Search for his threads or PM him.

EDIT: Good job BTW, I'll be looking into this avenue eventually, its always great to have more options. Good documentation too!

Are you using a stock MC? I've done a 929 MC swap as well and it's a pretty common upgrade for BBK on FDs

^ Still using the stock MC. If you have done the swap on the 929 MC, what did you do about the lines and the p-valve? The 929 MC bolts right up to the stock booster?

i actually did a 929 MC swap without upgrading the calipers and still got improved pedal feel so everything below should apply. i would caution you to double check to see if FD guys change the proportioner valve.

particularly my post #16

edit: note that you may not have to do much or any adjustment to the piston travel. the 929 MC is supposed to help restore normal pedal engagement/travel with a BBK so i i'm pretty sure I had to play around with mine more than others would have.

Nothing more yet, I haven't had a chance to drive the car because of the weather and a failing fuel pump. I am trying to source a 929 master and reservoir to try and firm up the brake pedal, but I'm not having much luck with any of the Detroit bone yards. If you buy the MC new it doesn't come with the reservoir on it. It's a special order for that setup.

I have access to the Evo booster and MC, so I might take a look at that first. Unless someone can help me out finding the 929 setup for a reasonable price?

If you are willing to bend your own lines and make your own flares (double flares onto SAE fittings), there is a much better alternative to the 929 MC on the market.

Yeah, I'm interested in knowing some other options. I have the Evo booster and master coming too.

I'll post a write-up in 2 weeks or so; just finishing off the car and I'll snap some pictures.

Other than the lack of pedal, everything else work fine it appears. Clearance for the calipers was good, no dragging at all when the pedal was released and everything sounded clean (no catching or dragging of any moving parts). More to follow.
The evo calipers use differenital bore 2x 40mm and 2x 46 mm pistons vs. the stock 4x 36 mm. This means you both need a big MC to compensate for the added flow requirements AND an adjustable proportioning valve because you've shifted brake bias about 50% forward due to piston area.

That's before you account for the added leverage resulting from the larger rotor (though you might balance that part out if you upsize the rear rotors as well).

^ yeah, I think I am going to go with the Corksport rear brake upgrade to balance out the leverage and planned on a PV to dial in the rears.

Any info on the other MC options? I did get the Evo booster and MC over the weekend. It appears the Evo MC bore is 1 1/16th bore. I haven't had a chance to line things up yet and compare between the Evo and FC stuff, but I should have time this week.

Did you ever get this squared away?

My mandeville setup is up and running. I couldn't be happier.

Well I finally got time to work on the setup again. I need a metric union to complete it before I can bleed everything. I expect to have it done in the next couple days.

I used a Mazda 929 booster/master w/stock FC proportioning valve and an adjustable proportioning valve for the rears. I have the Corksport large rears installed out back. Still undecided about the Corksport kit. My only concern is that I have the fronts teed with a block. I guess I'll find out once I test drive it.

Here are a few photos.

Recap:
EVo IX front brembos
corksport rears
929 master
custom tubing w/ yblock for fornts
proportioning valve

Please keep the info rolling, I have a 1st gen track ***** with a FC front crossmember mated to the 1st gen body and am using the FC rear rotors with FD rear calipers. This might make a realistic upgrade for me as currently my fronts are a little weak in comparison to my rears I had to really bias the rear down to make the brakes balance on the track. If I can get some more action on the fronts, I could readjust the bias.... hmm thoughts

Bleeding the brakes right now and should have my exhaust done this weekend. The drive test will be shortly after.

Well, she is running and driving. I'm still braking in the motor so I haven't gone really fast with it, but she stops as expected under normal driving conditions. The brake engagement is a little lower in the pedal travel that I like, but I will try adjusting it tomorrow for a better feel. Then I hope to get in some spirited driving this weekend to test the brakes capabilities. So far so good!

Pictures of the front/rear brakes followed by a topless photo.
