update:
revved mine up the other day just as you did. well, not exactly. I only went to 3k rpms in neutral. was doing the exact thing as yours. holding the rpms steady=skipping and breaking up. i'll check the TPS and maybe adjust the VR tomorrow.

Not to veer off topic or anything but what the heck is your cluster surround made out of? Is that styrafoam(sp)?

Revving? - rotaries LOVE to rev.
Revving blasts out carbon deposits before they build up too much.
Revving gets the oil injectors going.
Here's a surprise - another engine that needs to be revved up occasionally, a Cadillac northstar.

A slight random miss is normal with a nice lean idle, however it should not miss that much under load.
It sounds lean under load.

Check the voltage at the Walbro.
The fuel filter could be due for a change..

When mine started to run lean, it turned out to be the last thing I would have suspected, a stuck FPR.

Heh, Pretty much the same thing here

Random light misfire at idle
Constant backfire at shifts
No hesitation in 1st, most of the time
A lot of backfiring in second
3-5 above 4 grand is un-usable
also surging idle

So far i've done:
new oem plugs(helped a bit)
new oem wires
new oem fuel filter
re did ground wires and added some (helped a bit)
Re set timing (helped a bit)

To do:
new coils, secondary 550s, and walbro 255 (all in the mail)

Hopefully after the latter 3 it'l be ok, i'm running out of things to replace!

Not saying anyone was wrong and I'm right......BUT......

I adjusted the TPS, it was reading around 900 ohms. set to read between 980 and 1020 depending on how i let off the throttle.
Also adjusted the VR to full LEAN. Idle smoothed out but still blips very ocassionally. Maybe my VR is hooked up backwards. Also runs smoother when holding steady revs. Still blips a little. Much much better than it was.

**** no. The guy who had the car before the guy I bought it from painted it with some kind of green spackle paint. I hate it. He also did the warning light surround and the steering surround. UGGGG. Im gonna paint it black for now. He also jacked up my interior wiring. He hard wired my running lights to come on with the ignition. And the interior lights only work with the key on also. Stupid!!! But, I got a good deal on it. And thanks for all the input. I adjusted my tps the other day and that helped alot. It idled great and would push me back in the seat when fully spooled. Now im having a wierd high idle low power issue. When the car first gets cranked and im driving around it idles at around 1500 rpm. After driving for a little while the idle will suddenly go to 750 or so and then....HOLY COW!!! The car boosts beautifully except a skip up top a bit. I think my tps is fiz ucked. LOL. I was also thinking my BAC could be screwed. Anyway, to clean it?

Hey sureshot. Whats the easiest way to see if its a stuck fpr? Can it be cleaned to unstick it? Also, what should the pump voltage be and where should I be checking it at? I mean which wire or connector?

You seem to be idleing prety hight and the temp guage is hot too. I dont know if thats normal temp for a 13BT my NA is less then a quarter on hot days after driving alot, maybe hits a full quarter of the guage. BUt yah my NA does the same thing, even after getting new plugs and wires. Cant wait to afford a TII.
