My engine died and I wanna do the rebuild myself: questions!

Basically the only questions I have so far is will I need any special tools to disassemble or assemble the engine once I get it out of the car and down to the short block? Supposedly I need an engine stand adapter to mount the block on an engine stand. Any idea where I can get such an adapter? What's the least messy way to drain the coolant? And for those of you who have done it, what is the hardest part of the whole process and do you have any advice as to things I should look out for? Thanks guys. I really can't afford to pay someone to do this right now. Luckily I have access to a rotary-rebuild video, this forum, lots of car-nut friends, and a rotary specialist locally. So hopefully this should be entirely feasible for me to do. This is for a '90 TII, by the way.

Yeah, I would reccomend getting an engine stand adaptor. I can't think of anyone that sells them off the top of my head right now... actually, I think Pineapple does.

You may want to look into getting a 54mm socket, (or equivilent), for the flywheel nut.

The front pulley bolt will be hard to get out. An air impact and a torch always seem to get them out eventually.

Drain the radiator, and the block. The block drain is on the bottom of the middle iron, on the driver's side.

Make sure you have some torques to get the flywheel nut and the front pulley bolt off. Other than that, its really alot easier than building a boinger.
