My engine, bought with no aux ports?

Well, I bought this car 2 days ago, and the guy told me when he put the engine back in the car, he didn't put the air pump in, and he also pulled out the 5 and 6 port sleeve things. I have them, but was wondering if I should put them back in, if so, how hard is it to put them back in?

And, does that pretty much mean my 5th and 6th port are always open?

you can put them back in and it will probably idle better, but yes your ports are now open all the time

the 5th and 6th ports are actually inside the iron housings. these ports swing open above 3500 RPM and allow more air in for more power

to find them,
1. lift hood, duh
2. stand to the right side of the front passangers wheel and shine a flashlight towards your engine about were the wasteturbo would be
3. the actuators will be in a v shape and look kinda small although important.
Welcome

install them if you dont mind doing the work
gives ya slightly better power if you city drive and ***** footing...
shifting at 2300ish rpm definately helps ALOT when you have them

Put them back in. You'll have your low end torque back, and it won't hurt your high end.

It continues to amaze me that people remove these things, when there is absolutely no reason to break the aux port system.

The only circumstance in which the ports should be left open is if you have no way to actuate them, or the engine is ported.
