Doing the block weld trick for bad water seals.
For those of you who don't know what im talking about. The article is here, kevin landers wrote it at rotary resurrection.

Im thinking of doing this. Although I have a couple questions.
If your reading kev, is it still working? lol, how long did it last?
If you do this, and say get your engine rebuilt a year or so later, would it be much more difficult to take it apart and get it ready?

I did it and I rebuilt the same engine with the stuff in there. It wasn't any more difficult to rebuild. I didn't wait a whole year, but it wasn't hard at all. It clotted up around the broken seal. I found some of it in the water pump, but not enough impede its function on a noticeable level, and the rest came out when I drained the coolant and cleaned the housings and plates. Once the parts were clean, the rebuild was no different. And the parts aren't any more difficult to clean with block weld in it.

Please remember that the block weld trick is to be used as a last resort option. It was developed when Paul Yaw lost a coolant seal, yet could not immediately pull the engine apart (I believe it was a turbo REPU). It is NOT designed to "repair" an engine anytime a coolant seal lets go.
The block weld will coat the entire inside of the cooling system with it's goop. You can imagine what this will do to the radiator.
