Is my engine blown and what probably whent?
well I've been dealing with a low oil pressure at idle problem for some time now and finally broke down and took it to a mechanic who after fooling around trying to get it to idle decided to compression check it. got 3 bumps of 70+ on front rotor and 3 bumps of maybe 5 on the rear.
I did not drive the car much from when the oil pressure problem started, at most 60 miles, and I always tapped the gas to keep the pressure up.
the story:
About a month before the oil pressure problem, I got a huge buck under acceleration but the car continued to run fine afterwards so I thought nothing of it. Shortly after my car started having problems like dying when coming to a stop when the engine was cold and idling abnormally all the time. The car still ran, it was only a nuisance to have to start it at every stop when warming up. About a month later the buck under acceleration happened again and shortly after (during same drive) I noticed the oil pressure dropping to 0 at idle or very low rpms. I decided to investigate this imediately and stopped driving the car after that night. I started the car up maybe 15 times since then just checking to see if I had managed to fix the oil pressure problem, and then took it on one final drive to get it to the mechanic 10 miles away.
So, I'm pretty sure I blew the rear apex seal a month before the oil pressure problem and it somehow caused my oil pressure problem a month later. What do people suggest I do?
