My emissions testing story
Removed RB exhaust and put on stock exhaust system. Hooked up air pump directly to cat.
1st test: Fail
High speed 2500rpm
HC 78/200
CO 1.25/1.20 <---failed by .05
Low Speed 750rpm
HC 91/200
CO .59/120
2nd test: Denatured alcohol and 5 gallons of 88 octane. Failed again
High Speed
HC 48/200
CO 1.25/1.20 <---again failed by 0.05
Low speed
HC 62/200
CO .35/120
Everything else was lowered, but still failed by the same amount on high speed rpm for CO. I thought the alcohol trick would work and wanted to see how big of an effect it had. Suprising it didn't move the CO at high speed. So I bought new spark plug wires and plugs.
3rd test: Passed
High Speed
HC 80/200
CO 0.50/1.20
Low speed
HC 134/200
CO 0.35/120
At least I passed, but I was suprised to see that all the readings became higher except for CO output, just by using new plugs/wires and still using denatured alcohol. Just thought I'd share.

Home depot, or any paint store. At HD it was $12 for a gallon, I think paint stores should be a little cheaper. I just mixed 1 gallon with about 5 gallons of gas. Just drive around without boosting or getting high load I suppose and no problems. I would have probably passed without it, by first just changing the plugs and wires, but it defnintely helps.
