my drivers side window - Quick questions (bet you havent heard this one)

My power windows work fine, except my drivers one doesnt "roll" up all they way it stops about 1/2 inch before it gets to the top then just goes gvrvrrrrrrrr clunk clunk clunk.

What to do? I took off the panel but couldnt really get at anything cause the metal inside frame panel gets in the way alot.

How do i fix this and what is the problem to begin with?

Does the window roll up all the way at all? Like if it gets stuck you roll is down a bit and back up? or does it just catch at a certain point?

There are a few things you could try. Someone on the forum suggested that if the window is off the track, try tilting the glass towards the front of the car when you roll it up. Also try cleaning the contacts inside the window switch itself. That solved my window problems.

the switch works fine...Some times it chokes going up in certain spots but no matter what it wont roll up to the top completely by its self....If i get out of the car and use my hands (one on each side of the glass) and shimmy it up manually it will go up to the top, but after the car drives over a few bumps the window cracks open again :S

i'm an auto glass tech and from what it sounds like your regulator is bad . if you dont know how to replace it try a body shop they are good at that kind of thing . just my thought , i really cant be 100% sure without seeing it .
