my coolant gauge isn't working
after a fresh rebuild my coolant isn't working, is the coolant temp sensor on an S4 T2 on top of the water pump?
some people mentioned a sending unit below the oil pressure unit, but I couldn't tell if these were S4's or S5's and different from what I thought mine was.
Can I ground the wire I think is the temp wire and see if the gauge is working? Or is there a wire below the oil filter I'm missing?

Thanks Ted.
Always appreciate your advice
any ideas what this one wire sensor is to the right of the stat housing? Is it for coolant level? I had assumed it was temp and the level sensor was at the bottom of the rad.

on both s4's and s5's, the temp sending unit are in the same locations. The s4's have a smaller diameter i beleive. Take your sending unit out to see if its cracked, Mine fell into 2 pieces after i took mine out.
