Is my clutch shot? please help

I have an 87T2 with about 10K on a Bonez S/S clutch disc and pressure plate, with a new slave and master cyl and I am pretty sure TO and pilot bearings. Also braided line between cylinders, and redline in the tranny.I didnt do the install myself(except the slave cyl) but I didnt have any probs for the first 5K or so other than the fact that it always disengaged close to the fllor, even after I adjusted the clutch pedal rod in a bit.
So after around 5K miles I started having intermitent problems when it was harder/knotchier than normal to get into any gear. So I parked it bled the slave thouroughly and ajusted the rod even further in and it seemed to remedy the problem. note that at this point I even cut the metal "stopper" coming off the firewall down a lil to get more pedal throw distance.

So this morn it was particularly cold out for the first time this season and I figured the notchiness was due to the temps outside. It got worse as I headed to work. I went to get it into first or reverse and it either grinded like hell or wouldnt go in. I could force it into either 1st or rev with the pedal mashed to the floor and jamming it into gear with a nasty thump. And once in 1st gear the car want to roll forward with the clutch pedal floored. I rev matched my gear changes and fought it into gear all the way home from work tonight!! Pedal pressure feels same as normal and a visuall check showed the slave cyl getting around 3/4" of play. Though the top of the fork, where it meets the slave cylinder, seems to be about 1" crooked to the right in its rubber boot

So I adjusted the rod on the back of the pedal all the way in and now I can get it into gear easier(only drove aroun cultisect) but pedal pressure is twice as hard as it ever was, and it still disengages really close to the floor. It looks like the slave this way is now staying extended more than should be even with the clutch pedal out! I have abused this clutch setup at the track in the past with no problems and this just happened on a regular morning drive.
What do you guys think it is?

How's the fluid level? Did you have to add any? This sounds suspiciously like the slave cyl is bad. You might want to try another one, if at all possible.

but I can see the "plunger" on the slave cyl extend as the pedal is depressed about 3/4". What bothers me is the fact that the release fork seems to sit about 3/4" crooked in its rubber boot. So the plunger sits at an angle. What could cause my release fork to get this way?

Maybe it slipped off the connector **** inside the tranny?

BUt I can't see how it would just slip off.

A crapply slave cylinder would definatly cause a lack of shift fork travel. Thus not disengaging the clutch all the way and making it very difficult to shift. Just because it moves doesn't mean it's working. You'd have to compare a working slave cylinder's linear travel to a faulty one's to know for sure....I guess.

madrx7racer-did you ever discover what was causing it? How much throw is the slave cylinder supposed to have?
