NO WAY MANG! new exhuast?! omg no wai!! i think that pic you found on a site looks awesome!
riverzendz - i think hes trying to say every exhuast thats not a racing beat or stock looks like farts cans. and hes asking if those "fartcans" are welded on the stock exhuast after cutting the mufflers off.... right? iuno...

i dont think so, theres 2 (or 3?) cats and it looks like the headers replace the first one (im not too sure, have some one confirm that)
dont even bother with the headers, racingbeat actualy suggests the presilencer + catback (no headers needed)
BTW that RB catback is pricey (belive me, i bought one)

Yea, what SayNoToPistons said. I'm running the N1's, for the second time on my second 7. You didn't know you could buy a catback system that looks like that? Where have you been?

i just put a new header on my car that i got from a buddy, its not quite like RB, but yes, it did eliminate the first cat, however, i had to get a custom pipe built because the flange on the header was too small for the flange on the second cat, so, i just took the second cat out and had that custom pipe made, noticeable increase in torque for sure, its worth it

The headers will provide as much if not MORE gain then removing the cat and a new catback. It is a very important peice to getting the most power out of a rotary...

I mean why would racing beat say that if it wasnt true, they obviously have dyno tested both setups and they obviously want to sell headers. I have seen posts on this site where people get a header first while maintaining the stock exhaust system and complain about no noticable improvement... than they replace the cat system and omg so much more power... it must be the header...
Not to mention that NA rx7 with a header is just loud as hell. I dont think its worth it for a couple hp.

Replacing mufflers on a stock exhaust system is lame unless your's warrant replacing. If you have a nice exhaust system that has N1 style mufflers on it...I don't see anything wrong with it. Stock exhaust sucks.
