she been sitting a while(less then a year), and she won't start, got a new battery, she almost turned over ALMOST!!!!!!!!!!! so close

smells very rich while trying to start

i went to a shop and explained it to a guy, and he told me to try this

take out the spark plugs and put "auto tranny fluid in it" and try to turn the car on

K! when he said this i wasn't sure if he ment poor alot or a little and put the plugs back in it and then start it any body know of this method?

the car might have loss of compression, help

i think the haltech lost its memorie but is that possible?

My car doesn't start
Remember when starting a fuel injected car you should never pump or press the accellerator pedal, but if it won't start it is probably flooded, Hold the accelerator pedal all the way down while cranking, do not pump the pedal. If it still doesn't start after a few tries, Then remove the EGI fuse and crank a couple more times, then re-install the fuse and try starting again. If then the car still fails to start it then you need to remove and clean the spark plugs, put in a teaspoon of ATF into the lower sparkplug holes, re-install the spark plugs and try again. Make sure you change your oil after you have started and run the car ASAP.

I believe the Haltech uses eproms to store info so the only way it can lose its memory is with ultra violet light. It would be incredibly foolish to store it with a battery since dyno tuning costs so damn much.

Deflood...

Its not hard... several methods can be employed. Pulling the fuses, and if that doesnt work, use MMO. If that doesnt work, the good old push start.

its been sitting for a year though. If it won't crank at all then it could possibly be carbon locked. I guess I don't really know what you mean by "she almost turned over". If you mean it almost cranked then its probably carbon locked and you definately DON'T want to push start it. You can seriously damage the internals if you forced a carbon locked engine to crank. If it almost started or cranks slowly then its probably flooded.
