My car runs! and its painted! truly a polished turd!

well the car started out as an 86 base model, i did the whole S5 TII everything swap, with a tomei LSD in the rear, 5 lug conversion, 4 pot brakes, TII suspension and tein lowering springs (TEMPORARY, coilovers soon). motor was rebuilt and ported, with FD stat gears and bearings, & 125 psi oil pressure regulator. Im using a haltech E8 to control it with 2x550 and 2x1600 injectors. also threw in a walbro fuel pump and an ebay front mount with home made piping. ripped out the maroon, threw in a black dasdboard; seats and door panels coming soon. and just yesterday we painted the thing so now shes nice n'shiny. this has been an ongoing project for over a year but i hate making posts until everything is DONE. ill let the pictures do the talking from here, enjoy!

thanks!

i knew id forget to mention some things. the color is a dark brown metallic from an international truck, i just picked it out at the paint store.

also, before someone asks, i forgot to mention the exhaust is an RB downpipe to borla straight through muffler to Apex'i catback. single exit, all stainless, very light, and its VERY quiet.

NICE pics Max! Looks just as good in the photos as it does in person! I have to say, this car is one of the strongest running Rx-7's with a stock turbo I've felt. (It is mighty well tuned too if I say so myself ) Cant wait to see the next step....

At first I saw the shot of it in the garage and thought "oh that gold is gonna look gay", but as soon as I saw the car parked in sunlight I thought it looked effing sweet. Nice job. And I only think a few FCs look good with out spoilers, and yours just joined the list.

Very nice job on the paintjob. What brand primer is that? Also did you use a single stage paint or multistage?

You know.. I usually *HATE* brown vehicles unless its UPS dropping off parts, but... that metallic brown is AWESOME. Great choice! Very unique.

thanks! its a primer/base/clear paint job, all paint was bought at sherwin williams auto paint store, so its whatever brand they sell (i currently forget).

i bought it off of gtorx7, it came out of his TII widebody first gen. idk who made it but its a very nice fully machined piece.
