my car is finally home!
well we drove 4 hours to go pick up the rx7 today... i installed my turboII gauge cluster so i'd have a oil pressure gauge and fuel gauge. prior to the picking up, kevin said the initial compression after a couple minutes of idling was about 95-100 psi, good news. so after me and andy got the gauge cluster installed, we departed. the car ran surprisingly well for having like 1 mile on the rebuild.
after a couple stops on 25e to make sure everything was normal (temps, fluids, etc) we started the 220 mile drive home. the car actually got like 21.4mpg with alot of city driving mixed into the trip which surprised me, since its ported (his ports are medium size, definitely not small) and had like ~250 miles on the engine.
it sucks having to stay under 4000 rpms and out of boost
but all is well and the engine starts up on the 3rd rotation exactly like it should, even when hot!
