My car failed emmissions

BUT WHY??!?!?!?!?!??? Here are the readings;;;;

NO - I scored 66.7 (Max = 1258)
HC - I scored 55.9 (Max = 174)

CO - I scored 2.35 (Max 1.12)

OK so I passed awsome on NO and HC, but failed badly on CO??? What the hell?? Should I tell them to hook up the fan next time?? This test uses 2 probes and a large vaccum to detect crap. They run the car in 2nd gear at 25 mph for around 2 minutes.

I had 93 octane in the tank, a half a bottle of Marvel Oil, and a bottle of DriGas. Also kept the internal temp on the coldest possition.

Good luck. Big brother Orwellian emissions testing sucks.

I run marvel in my cars but never before an emission test. I usually run chevron/techron fuel injector cleaner on one tank before the state inspection and nothing but good old straight gasoline for the inspection. Then I go back to premix. I do not want any chemicals/additives in the tank to screw up the readings.
I also plan my tuneups usually right before the inspection. This way the car is running as good as it will ever.

I just did some major updates today after failing emmissions. First and formost I replaced my spark plugs. The old plugs really sucked. i actually dont know why I wasted my time at the dmv cause I knew the plugs had over 25k miles on them.

Next I was playing around with things... My TPS was way out of adjustment! I did the 2 light thing and now the rpms dont bounce under 2k. While adjusting the TPS I noticed a vaccumm line was disconnected from what looks like something on the injector rail. My guess is a secondary injector. I noticed an HP increase when I fixed this up. Finally - my boost sensor had nasty connections. Looks like someone put a bad wire crimp on the ground wire. I just ripped the whole white connector off and soldered 4 spade connects and pushed them directly into the sensor. REally didnt make a performance different or anything, but at least its a clean reading now.

Man the list just keeps going on and on with this car. Between electrical older joints, loose intake hoses, birds nests on top of the air filter, O2 sensor totally clogged, and now theres a gay "test" tape stuck in my tape player - Some bullcrap I grabbed from my parents collection.

All in all this car is a dream to work on. i love it, but I can see why most people fear these cars. I paid little for this car and it looks very good and runs quite strong for its troubles. Compression still seems good.

Ok ill stop my rambleing.
