my car is dead

HI guys my transmission broke in half yesterday. idont know how but it is all crucked i only could make to get 1st gear, but the car was running so i had to leave the car in a parking lot until next day. i towed the car today and i tryed to start the car but it wont start at all is just dead. why my car wont start?
