my baby won't start

allright, i have an 88 T2. i went to go driving around the other night, and she wouldn't start up. there was no power to anything. i had my friend try to jump start me for like 10 mins, and nothing. i am taking the battery to get tested today, to see if it is completely dead. does anybody have any ideas on what the hell could be wrong, cause this is really pissing the hell outta me. any help is appreciatied.

Does it start at all when jump starting? If it does and it dies when you take the cables off then its the alternator probably. If nothing then starter maybe?

Angry Won`t start

hey, take broom handle and poke it down and tap on the starter a few times, then try and start it . If it starts OK then its the brushes in the starter, might be anyway,

Don`t be afraid to put new ones in yourself, it`s a peice of cake . You can order the new brushes from your local automotive electric shop for about $30.00. Check Yellow Pages !!!!!

ok, several people have told me it could be the starter, but what i dont get is that there is absolutely no power to anything in the car. jumpstarting it did nothing at all. could the battery actually go completely bad like that? i'll try looking at the starter and everything. well keep the ideas coming on what it is. thanks.
