I don't think the lines of a scoot fits our 80's blocky style.

But nice job anyways.

nope....that is a kit i hope to be building soon....anyhow i laid the glass over the foam, we will see how it turns out tomorow. I will throw some bondo over the cured glass and then sand it down, throw some plastic sheeting in to make the vents, more glass, more bondo, more sand and then off to the shop for the primer...

the scoot hood wont fit the lines of an FC, thats why i changed the lines and doing something similar. Same idea, different lines.....if you replicated the scoop from a scoot for the fd and glassed it onto and FD hood it would probably look silly

Look interesting, but I think to match the lines of the FC better it shouldn't be quite as.. 'round'

What compound is that you used to make the raises?

Also is that a Fiberglass template hood piece or something else like plastic?

I Sooooooo want to try my hand at large scale fiberglassing. I currently plan to make a scoop for my hacked NA hood and add FC2000 side vents to it since it's a steel hood and I'll be getting a FC3S CF TII hood soon. So I don't have to worry if I totally **** it up.

its a fiberglass hood i made and hacked.....it is a lil rounded but thats what the scoot resembles....otherwise it wouldnt the design. And the compound i used was a two part urethane foam mix. you mix, pour, let it expand and then sand sand and glass over it. i am putting my dash projet first. This thing is more of an experiment. if it looks good it does, and if it doesnt i dont really care, just having fun

scoot hood won't help a car with a FMIC. Leave the reverse fins and loose the hole in the front and you will have something. The "ram air" hole that low on the hood will work against the radiator at highway speeds and over heat the car.

Do you know of any good guides on fiberglass fabrication? When I get my FC I really want to put a nice LCD up front, and being able to fabricate some enclosures would rock.

they have books at the fiberglass store, i mostly went online and read how to's and just asked questions and trial and error. Actually more error than trial lool but it worked out. As far as the scoop on the hood I think it looks mad tyte fo shizzle and thats why its going on there. To me this is not a serious attempt at making something massively cool and popular and new, Im just bored and have a hood that either does this or gets thrown away and EVERYONE keeps telling me scoot hood for fc scoot hood for FC so what the hell, id like to be known as the guy that tried it at least. Anywhore, if the scoop really gets in the way then Im sure for those who really like the look but dont want the scoop it wont be hard to close off and hell, i might be able to even add a cf block off plate. Or I have an idea, but a single projector light in the middle and call it the Rxyclops Or if you want to double 0 your seven you can add a rocket launcher, machine gun and or smoke machine in a perfectly concealed location

aight guys i think ima kill this one and just go with a RE style hood based on the current one I have. Check my sig and just imagine the same vents but the vent itself chopped into louvres and raised area around the perimiter of the vents. Very similar to RE style....watcha think?
