My appreciation story for this website!

Today, I had the worst feeling in the world, my car wouldn't start.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a drifter or racer, I just like to drive and have fun. I've never driven the car super hard, just have used it as my d-d, and have always shifted at around 3k rpm to "save" gas. My car is an S4 with a swapped TII, banzai TID, and HKS air filter, and dual a'pexi exhaust, basically stock. I've never had any flooding or starting issues, even though I've driven the car for hours at times.

So here's the story:

This is my third drive up in the mountains in the Redwood/ Moraga/ Castro Valley area. It started like all my other drives up there, cruising through the area to see how polluted it was with other drivers and cyclists and trying to get the car to operating temp before doing anything fancy. I reach a parking lot after driving for about 15 minutes and decide to turn around. As I'm about to turn, a Subaru BRZ pulls up and slowly brakes in front of me. He signals me to go ahead, and since he broke for me I felt obliged to go ahead. We drive through the turns, and he's not being a dick like other people I've encountered up in the mountain and tail my *** just because I'm in an Rx7. So we're cruising together and I'm showing him a little power from a rotary here and their, but not trying to dust him or show off. We hit a part of the road were it gets more open and you can begin to see burnouts and donut marks. I make a right turn to let him pass me, (he can follow the road and go straight or turn right and keep going) but he decides to stick to my bumper. I make a U-turn to drive back up the mountain and he slowly does the same. I wait for him to complete the turn, because it's obvious he wants to run... and I hit it! I stay on third hitting high-revs, turning on point and hit the brakes when I need to. I'm not going to go as far as to say I dusted him, but I had a good lead on him.

After driving almost neck to neck, we hit the place where he broke to let me pass and we drive into the small dirt lot. He parks and I park behind him. We start talking, asking if we've been through these roads before and things like that. It gets to the point where it's time to part ways, so he gets in his car, turns on his engine and I do the same. I stick the key in ignition and turn the key, but no start! How embarrassing! and what a great way to promote rotary engines! I thought about what could be the problem and cancelled out any possibilities. I tried to start the car again and this time listened for any strange noises. The car cranked, so the starter and battery must work. No strange noises. I look at my gauges and it shows I have fuel and my battery meter is at 13 volts. Fuel pump? Relay? Injectors? Or... NOOO, my engine is dead, I think to myself! The guy in the BRZ didn't seem to know much about cars, asking if it my battery was dead and I tell him, "yes, probably". He offers to jump my car and I agree, using this time to assess the situation hoping I figure it out before I get stuck in the mountain by myself with no cell reception, before I'm forced to call a tow truck or have to ask this guy for a ride! But then I remember I haven't tried everything. I quickly jump to the engine fuses under the hood and try to remember the de-flooding procedure. DAMMIT, which fuse is it? No, its not HEAD or MAIN. Got it, has to be EGI INJ. So I pull it out and crank the engine for a few seconds, get out, put the fuse back in and try to crank the engine. It starts! Thank the rotary-gods!!! It was my fault for not letting the car idle a few minutes before turning it off and it must have gotten flooded. This is the first time I've ever encountered this type of problem and glad it wasn't a big problem. Now I will always remember to let the car sit for a while after driving hard like that. On top of that, cops pull up next to us while I have the hood popped open and start asking questions. They run my plates and hassle me, and start saying thingst like "probably broken because its a Mazda, you know this ones probably that rotary." and little things like that. And when I finally got the engine to start, one of the cops says, "started cause I'm here". They run my plates, kick up dirt where my car is and leave. I hop in my car and go home.

Well, that's my story.
--->Troll: "Cool story bro" hahaha

Knowing information posted on here saved my *** today, so thanks!

I would really like to give thanks to this forum for all the information that it provides and their is no doubt in my mind that I would have been able to accomplish anything with my Rx7 if it wasn't for it. So,

Thanks a lot rx7club.com and thanks to the people that make it run!

P.S, buy my stuff hahaha
