My 1986 Project (again)
After being post-poned for 2 months, Im gonna work my my RX-7 again. Woot. So, I just have some questions on what people like best in different areas of the car.
What would you reccomend for:
-A clutch thats a little better than stock, yet affordable?
-A clean almost stock looking body kit for the 86 model year?
-Making the car lighter? (I will get rid of anything unnessessary, I mean anything)
-A air intake system?
-A complete exhaust system?
Also, would you even suggest adding an oil cooler for the transmission and motor?
I want this car to run just a little better than stock at first, just to get all the kinks worked out. My 13B has 200k on it, but the thing still sounds great and runs good with no hiccups. I would like to take it in for a rebuild when I get it back to my home state of Wisconsin (I fear opening up any engine. It just seems like a job professionals should be doing) So if you can help, I will be stoked and then I can hopefully make my car a success. Thanks for your time.

-for a clutch i prefer exedy
-i think that the 86 looks best with the mazdaspeed lip kit, which corksport now makes a replica for
-remove power steering, air pump, any emissions, get as many carbon fiber larger pieces as possible, remove interior
-the most proficiant intake system is the stock one with a k and n drop in filter
-for exhaust i would choose the Apex'i N1 duels sounds amazing and looks so good, but if you want cheap and good quality go Corksport
-and the car already has a very proficient oil cooler system, an aftermarket one would show little gains
