Yea, this interior is like new. It doesnt have any fades or cracks, nothing at all. I like it myself, but black interior is still pretty sweet.

glad to see your trying to save it. the red doesnt look as bad as some peoples because most peoples is trashed. car is rough haha definently needed some love. send me a PM if you need any parts i have a complete 88 GXL i am parting out and i can send you some stuff cheap if you need it. gray interior but its alot rougher than your red is, but its not trashed. well good luck man. oh yeah, you could always paint the tail lights just for a suggestion to a cheap solution haha.

Are you goin to use the stock s4 bumper, because that FMIC looks huge. I would like to see how it looks in the s4 bumper if your going to use it.

The car has act prolite flywheel along with a 6 puck sprung clutch and heavy duty pressure plate, hard mounts all around the car. Currently saving up for a standalone.

A hockey player named Tony Tanti bought this AE and had a back seat put in by Mazda, which matched the rest of the leather interor. Im going to put the stock rear lights which i have here.
but i got to say......
red interior...common' dont embarasse us AE owners.
you have to get it looking like an AE before you can call it one.
im not bashing you, but you make me laugh.
no offence.

theres the vin for the people who dont believe me..
There is nothing in a VIN of an RX7 that determines the model the only true proof would be a pic of the firewall ID plate with the correct paint code and that is UC and from some of the pics above it looks like it says UC.

Sways are always classy but the burgandy makes me have siezures. Nobody will believe that you honestly have a 10ae. They will probably say you just put on the emplem and painted you tails. Even still, fun project and I wish I had the time and space to do something like that.

P.S. - For all the non believers, say that the black interior just faded bc it sat in the sun with the sunroof open for 10years in a walmart parking lot in new mexico or arizona. I'd believe it.

Look, this car is mine. This car is a true 10ae, no matter if it has no interior or bagdes or tails. I dont have to confince anybody that its a 10ae bc ive already listed the vin, and I will take pics of the firewall. For all those people out there talking about doing this and that, I dont care. This is all I can afford at the moment, I dont think you guys understand how hard it is to bring a car back alive from just bare shell-BARE SHELL. As for the black interior, I only put the maroon interior in it to begin with. I have a full black interior that I will be swapping once the car is all painted and done. But that still doesnt mean that the maroon interior is junk, Ive seen faded interiors and this isnt one of them. If there is 10ae owners out there that are offend bc of my car, thats just too bad. I brought back a car to life that was going to be a pop can, maybe I should have let it happen....

hey gxl87turbo :-) Don't let the kids in here bother ya! The car will look great when you are done. It's an rx7, you are having fun, it's your baby. That's all that matters! It will feel good when you get to drive her finally!

Besides most of the guys in here rip out their interior anyways!! They shouldn't be talkin!!!

Don't let their whining bother you! Most of their cars are worse off than yours!

I'd like to see pics keep us updated :-)

Shay

everyone is a hater..yeh red interior is not the greatest, i would of waited for black too..but he had no choice he wants the car to be driveable he can always change in the future if he finds mint ae stuff..atleast he didnt paint the car yellow and put a ls1 in it,,props to you its looking pretty good..and their is nothing wrong with hondas as long as its not riced out, 2 of my friends have hondas one civic, and one crx..and their both doing high 11's in the quarter..faster than alot of sevens on here..dont get me wrong i love my seven,,but i dont bash on fast *** hondas, only rx7's with ls1's

I hope you are not directing any of this toward me. I can see clearly in the pictures that the paint code is correct and the flaking (all true AE owners know) is a tell tale sign as well so none of us doubt the genuine status of this fine vehicle. We (most of us anyways) appreciate your effort and devotion to the project and whole heartedly support you. I have a dash (if you dont) and it is in GREAT condition if you want it you can come and pick it up I know it is a bit of a cruise to chicago but it is in great shape and free to you and you only.

check some of the pics in my sig and you will know that some of us do know how hard it is to bring a car back from a shell. In my case it is more like strip it to a shell flip everything around (RHD conversion) and then return it to a car again. We all get flamed here and there by some punk but dont let it get you down I have my share of haters because of the fact that I converted to RHD and that I chromed and polished and painted every square inch of the car but that is what makes it mine. Just like what you do is what makes yours, yours. That said I am glad that you want to restore it to as stock as possible.

Also if you need anything else let me know if I have alot of the part you need (I have 5 cars stripped in my storage facility) I might give you some other stuff too when you pick up the dash.

If you can't get all black, your next best bet is gray.
