MUST READ! turning up the boost

ive done may searches and come up with really no good tread or what mods you need to turn up the boost on a stock 1988 turboII. how high can you go, what do i need. From what i can tell and from othere cars i have, i guess i need a fuel cut maybe diff injectors and a super afc or some kinda piggy back. how high can a safely go on stock ecu, with say a front mount 3"dp full ex. Im sures there is a good thread on this but i have looked for days and read books to come up with really nothing other then the stock ecu dose not really seem up to high boost. I have planes to buy a big single but i just bought my turboII a few days ago for a dially driver seeing how my other rx7 turned into a full race thanks for the help

I ran 8-9 psi on my 89 T2 with just a Walbro and FCD. If youre going to up the boost ANY from stock, definitely get a fuel pump.

Dunno how high you can go on the stock ECU...I never went past 8. Ill tell you that Im pushing 15 everyday right now though.

with the addition of the 3" dp your boost will automatically jump to about 9-11psi...(thats what mine did).....you will need the FCD, the 720s will be enough if you get the piggy-back, rewire and upgrade fuel pump and FPR. Mine would go as high 14psi but would stay at about 11-12psi when at wot, just driving it would be 9-10.

FCD, upgraded secondary injectors, at leat get your primary injectors checked and flow tested, upgraded fuel pump, fuel controller, and FPR, but while you're doing all these fuel mods you can also switch over to a parallel fuel pressure system, and elliminate the PD. How far away do you live from State College?

Got a 2.5 DP is that not big enough??? My boost is about 6-7, even when I loosened the dp's rear bolts 1/4 inch to open it up as a "loud test"...but boost did not go to 8-10??? But then again maybe stock gauge is not very good as it went one bar before +45.....est 6.5psi??
Hope I'm not interupting...Thx
