Multiple Questions: Scraping Noise From Engine Bay, Smoke Until Warm, Rear Wheel Hop?

Just recently ive noticed that when i start my rx7 i hear like a scraping/scratching noise, especially when the engine is cold. then it get quieter after a while as it warms up.
What could this be?

My rx7 also seems to smoke (gray color) a lot when i start it up, cold. and when it warms up it doesnt smoke anymore. its also been raining a lot where i live. could it be just water/condensation burning off? or something else?

Last one, when i begin driving i sometimes feel like a hopping from the rear, and im not losing traction. what could this be?

ive tried searching but am still unclear of some answers. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Adam

Check idler pulley on the power steering for squeaking (if you have power steering) and engine cooling fan for obstructions (sometimes the clutch will start out engaged.)

The grey smoke could be bad (coolant seals), but I am guessing that the engine is blowing all the condensed water out of the exhaust.

The rear hopping is almost certainly the front mount on the rear differential, you might want to jack the back of the car up, put it on jack stands (under the suspension, not the differential) and wiggle the front of the differential (where the driveshaft connects.) If it moves up and down, that is your problem.

well, i have power steering but my power steering pump is dead. also, i dont think, or at least hope that my coolant seals arent bad since my engine has only 40-45thousand miles, after its rebuild.

i work at a tire kingdom so i can lift my car without a problem.

what color gray..........like dark dark gray or like almost white gray..........cuz if its almost white you may have a blown coolant seal.......which sucks cuz i'm dealing with one right now, but if its dark you're probably burning oil, which usually doesnt even phase an rx7 driver hahaha

well last night it smoked up like crazy when i started it after about an 8 hour period of non stop rain. and this morning it cranked right up without one sign of smoke, so i'm guessing it was just condensed water in my exhaust.

if it is the coolant seals, that would call for an engine rebuild right?
