Mufflers...Do we need them??

Hey guys

I was just wondering if it is possible to remove both mufflers on an 87 turbo. I know it is illegal for street driving but this car is just for racing. I've already installed a downpipe and removed all the cats. Is it better to get a high preformance cat-back setup or just custom fabricate a pipe instead of the mufflers

If you're racing and there are no noise regulations then you can just go with the pipe. My friend drives his car on the street with a dp, mp, and 2 resonators.

If your car tosses flames I'd strongly recommend that you at least get an extension pipe (one would be best for a turbo) to get the exhaust to the rear bumper.

The gas tank is right there, you don't want to be tossing flames that close to it.
