6a or 6al work fine, many say the gains from an ignition are useless but i found mine worked great and got me better gas milage, much quicker starts(hot or cold), and smoother high rpm operation. get one, they arnt that expensive and every little bit of hp you can get helps. on the 6AL i had, you had a choice to set it for 8, 6, or 4 cylinder, but you set it for a 6 cylinder and hook it up and it works great. i wouldnt get the 6AL though b/c it comes with a rev limiter but you cant use the rev limiter for some reason or another so its a waste of a few extra bucks.
