msd and a bad idle

Just put in my msd 6a and still am having idle problems. I noticed a noticeable increase in throttle responce but still I still have the problem of my car not idleing when cold (just started till like 10 or 20min). After that amount of time it starts idleing ok, what would be the problem here? THanks for the help!!!

I got the same problem. I had a modded and ported TB on my car and it started not idling since its getting colder, then swapped to a stock spec TB and its WORSE. Even with the choke and all. The BAC and TPS are to working properly and everything is properly dialed in according to the service manual.

Heres an odd idea my father gave me. He said on V8s with nasty cams( similar to streetport) that an old trick is to drill a hole in the TB to get alittle more air in there, and it works fine. Havent tried it yet due to a blown engine, but hopefully my idle will work perfect when I get her started again.

Confirm the MSD is firing the coils at idle...
Pull one of the leading spark plug leads and crank the car - the engine should start, and you should be able to see the spark arcing when you put the spark plug wire boot next to a known ground point.
