MSD 6A...useless?
MSD 6A...useless?
My mechanic who is installing my engine said that my MSD 6A was useless on my T2. He says the stock coils are more than enough and that the MSD 6A would probably be worse installed. Any thoughts??
The stock FC ignition is very stout. Adding an MSD on the leading coil could boost the spark a bit and perhaps increase power and fuel economy, but not very noticeably. It won't hurt anything.
I own two and have three cars and could not tell you which car does/does not have the MSD on it if I were blindfolded and driving the car(s). No jokes allowed about being blindfolded and driving, please.
That said the MSD has not had any bad effects in any way shape or form. Gave me something to do on a Saturday when I installed it.
