Move A/C controls to lower part of the dash?

Has anyone moved their A/C and heat controls down to the lower part of the dash where the stereo is? Or, is it even possible?

The logicon has three plugs, two into the back of the unit that can be moved down, and a harness that terminates in a plug up under the dash. (you don't have to pull off the dash board to get at it, just pull the top dash panel with the defroster vents).

You'd have to extend the harnesses a few inches, but it can be done.

Would it be just a matter of extending wires?

if you bother to relocate it, put it in the glove box. I am dropping the dash from a friends parts car here soon to make a CF to piece design and I don't think their is a whole lot behind the glove box area to get in your way. I have seen people but CD players and ems systems their I dont see why that cluster can't go in their as well.

Well my possible plan was to move the AC controls right about the cig lighter and then do 3 gagues above that and put my headunit where the ac controls are now. Just an idea.

The radio won't fit (depth wise) where the Logicon is without removing or modifing the vents.

Elfking relocated his logicon to the DIN and did not have to extend the wires. He said the hardest part was undoing the stock clip holding the harness.

it will fit fine but it needs to be placed slightly out and away from the logicon space due to the shallowness of the hole because of the upper vent housing. i have my LCD flip up monitor in this location now. (my reference is from a S4 viewpoint however i do not know that it will fit as easily in an S5)

i had to pull the logicon connector off the clip way back under the dash but the wiring will extend just fine on its own. you will also need to trim out a space for the logicon to sit in the stereo trim plate since it is wider than the stereo unless you trim the housing to fit it back in recessed behind the trim panel.
