IMO, the 4 point is fine for anyone retaining stock seats looking for some Lap days, Driver education events, etc. If it's a track only car, go for the 6 point, cage, aftermarket seats etc.

OK, looking at the FSM, there seems to be two possibly usable mount points, that were originally used for the rear seat's lap belts... That could possibly work for a normal four-point mounted harness, or a three-bolt harness, although they aren't officially approved by Schroth...

This is of course, assuming you take out the bins... which I might do, because then my friends can ride in the back more easily...lol

Then again, the Schroth web page lists the FC's only suitable mointing point as "point C," which is pretty damn vague... It also says that the automatic belt can't be used (I don't see why not, they're both single tail strap belts), nor can you use the Rally 4 or Cross.

OTOH it says you can use "point D" (also, what the hell is point D, exactly?), but not with the stock seat (you have to use one of their approved seats, most of which seem to be aftermarket recliners, not fixed FIA bucket seats).

I'm curious: are the mount holes for the rear seat in the body itself, or are they part of the seat frame (relying instead on the strength of the seat)?

If you take the bins out, will you even find the mount holes, assuming they aren't part of the rear seats? Or even the reinforced location, without a hole?

Actually, I am a degreed engineer, one who has worked on cars and been doing High Performance stuff for 15 years. (ill link my degree if you like) I would bet it is even money whether schroth actualy has degreed enginers develop thier safety equipment, it may be just some really experienced car guys, ones they may call "engineers".

But, like i said, if its not good enough for competition and even some HPDE rules then obviusly somethiing is wrong.

Many reputable safety equipment vendors wont touch that stuff.

But if it is true about thier breakaway system its probably about as good as stock 3 points at least which is fine and it helps keep your torso in place while driving at speed.
