Exclamation motor swap still not starting! AAAHHHHHH!!!

Okay, swapped a slightly used jspec motor in my 10th AE, and it wont start. Its cranking, getting fuel and spark. There is a little smoke coming out of the exhaust when its cranking and smells like raw gas. I have tried adjusting the CAS, the plug wires are right, tried spraying starter fluid in the intake, everything seems to be hooked up correctly.

I put cleaned and bored injectors in but haven't hooked up my SAFC, would that cause it not to start? Also, the gas that is in the tank has been in there since January, i know this isn't good but would it cause it not to start? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Shaun

It could be flooded if it smells like fuel... I would try to crank it with the fuse out (clear flood). Then try it again. Good luck.

You could try taking out the spark plugs to see if they are fouled or not. Crank the engine with the EGI fuse pulled and the spark plugs out to get any excess gas out of there. Put some oil into the spark plug holes to help get it started as well. The old gas in the tank wouldnt cause it not to start.

Yeah, try the techs to unflood the car.

When I swapped in my jspec engine into my T2 it flood at first as well. I just went and got new plugs...cleared the flood and it started right up with no problems.

There are two ways to clear a flood depending on how bad it is though.

I went and got new plugs, turns out it was flooded. After i unflooded it, i tried starting it probably 30 times and only got it to fire twice. It wouldn't idle and it had kind of a raspy sound and vibrated alot.

Is there any adjustments i could do to the timing or CAS, or anything that would help the idle?

THanks
SHaun
