the motor is PEACED OUT!

So,

I had blown the Turbo gasket the last time the car was on the track. After replacing the gasket, apparently I knocked off the wastegate signal line unknowingly.

Went for a drive, and decided to boost the car. So, at about 28 or so pounds later, I have a nice oil leak coming from between the intermediate housing and the rear rotor housing. Car still runs great, just squirts oil everywhere..

w00t!

You have done more with that keg than most of us have done with three.

So how did it pull up there? Or was it just dumping fuel at that point?

Sorry to hear it

I take it you don't have boost cut set up, do you have an E8 or E6k?

Well, it was great while it lasted. You put down some crazy numbers for a stock port. What are you gonna do now? Street or bridge port?

21 pounds was 434. At 28 pounds or so, it probably made close to 500 wheel before it died.

similar thing happened to me. My boost spiked up to like 25psi. I olny have a hybrid on my car though. I cracked my rear iron though no the intermediat, same symptoms though, oil squirts out from between the rear iron and the rear housing. My car also still runs great, just leaks oil like it's its job haha oh well. I'm going half bridge for my new setup

Nice. I can't wait to see what you can do with a fresh motor and a port.

what in the **** man?!

i did the same **** on my motor on the same night!

i figured the engine could take 18PSI(i actually had only mapped it for 16PSI, linear past that, so i will have to check the timing maps to see what really happened up there, might have even spiked higher without me knowing it but it should be logged since i have it setup to log whenever in boost) on pump gas without any injection to assist it, well apparently that was pushing the limits and after a mis-shift to fifth i went back into third and hammered on it and was rewarded with a big cloud of oil burning smoke at the offramp. popped the hood and saw a cracked rear iron right below the oil filter pedestal.

damn weak *** S4 motors.... i say we build some RE's and show them FD boys what an FC can do.

i'm not going to do anything drastic to it for now though, i plan on seeing what a stage 2 hybrid with my porting on a S4 block can produce, i was hoping for 400WHP on pump gas but i may have been a little too optimistic since the boost is obviously where the problem is, maybe with methanol or alcohol injection though.

looking back i'm glad the car is in one piece, i was doing pulls up to 100+ right as this happened and after coming to a stop i thought the clutch was slipping, it actually was the tires totally oil fouled, woulda been real nasty spinning donuts at over 100MPH.
