I have an 89 gtu that I have been working on for a while and I wanted to see who has or who knows of the most bad *** s5 ever. The best I have ever seen was a gold 89 gtu, he hit 250 on the dyno. I thought that was pretty good for a non turbo. I have seen him smoke alot of turbo cars.

 

thats pretty good. VERY curious to know what he has under the hood.

Most NA's need to be running bridges with standalones, or a carb setup to get 250bhp.

 

search for "beefy N/A" or something like that... there was a thread with all kinds of n/a mods listed.

i originally planned to do all of them LOL but then realized it wasnt gonna be cheap

I like Mazdaspeed7's latest setup for his s5 GTUs. He doesn't post here anymore, though, but he does on nopistons.com

Basically, built/blueprinted bridgeported engine with removed exhaust sleeves and race ported exhaust, all necessary mods to go to 9-10k rpms, TII driveline, TII LIM with FD UIM and TB, megasquirt, underdrive pulleys (I think), etc etc etc. He's gone through so many god damned engine setups on that thing it's insane. Huge streetports, mild streetport with bridged aux, full bridge, etc.
