More Pictures of my new car (hopefully)

ok so i just went to test drive a 1987 Turbo II. it drove real smooth. the sunroof clicked when i tried to open it, and the passenger window wont go down. (the contacts are broken) there is also a nice exhaust leak. he said he has the gasket to fix it and he will give it to me. i got him down to $4000 from $4800. tell me what you think. remember...for 4000 i get a second engine rebuilt from JAPAN DIRECT, another driveshaft, strut bar, turbo timer, LSD, 17 inch rims (no tires). its a good deal...at least i thought so. its 2 hours away and i didnt even have time to check the compression but he said he has checked it before and he got decent numbers. the second engine is a rebuild and has less than 50000 miles on it.

i added more pictures to the gallery. the engine bay isnt too bad...i didnt see much oil anywhere (if any) the inside of the car is very clean except for the smell of smoke...ill have to clean it like crazy to get that out but it would be worth it.

The good: You want a TII, and it’s a TII. The engine was rebuilt 50K ago (new housings I hope). It looks like the whole car is there. Spare parts are always good.

The bad: Exhaust leak (if that exhaust is original, plan on a complete replacement), busted sunroof (could be cables), a busted passenger side window (does the owner claim BOTH window switches are broken?), and could use some paint (it’s not embarrassingly bad, but it’s on the way there).

What does the driver’s seat look like? Did you try all the electrical components (headlights, wipers, HVAC controls, etc.)? On the one hand, he’s asking $4K for a 19 year old car that has a few obvious problems. On the other hand, $4K really isn’t a whole lot of money. Much less and the current owner is just giving it away. Assuming the drivetrain is mechanically sound, it looks like a decent buy.

no the engine was not rebuilt 50K ago....there are 2 engines....one is in the car (109k miles) the other is in a shed (less than 50k miles) it has complete turbo and intercooler...just needs the wiring harness.

all electrical and hvac work good and it drives very smooth. no power steering but its not a big deal, and there was no 3800 rpm loss of power. i brought it all the way to redline during the test drive.

To get the smoke smell out tuck dryer sheets up in the springs on the bottom of the seats. Change them about once a week and it will go away. Also there is a spray called Odor-X that works really well.
