What does turbo/NAor rotry?piston have to do with what side the exhaust comes out of!!!? And one side or the other does not look any better. It's a muffler for, It looks the same on either side.

You stated you have seen many cars with mufflers coming out the driver side

However We Drive RX7's
and ALL from R100-up had the exhuast coming out the pass side

Trying to say "other" cars have it on the other side
means nothing cause we are not other cars
We are Unigue onto ourselfs

The exhaust ports are located on the pass side
so it makes sense to have it go staright in the same direction
Less bends=more flow
For Turbo this is critical to maximize HP
N/A not as Much

I think you guys are over analyzing this flow thing way too much.Regardless of which side it exits on it has to go from the center of the car to one of the the sides, if your keeping the stock mounting locations.Only difference is the outlet to the cat aims very slightly to the left but probably not enough to cause flow problems.Someone posted a pic of the Apex'i N1 which mounts on the passenger side and said it had too many bends.I doubt it.Look at the Apex'i GT spec exhuast, it exits on the drivers side and appears to have the same number of bends.I'm not going to argue the weight issue.I've thought about going to a single to save some weight but I prefer the look of duals.

Man don't turn this into a big argument. I'm currently 20% on my upload of the video. whenever I get home I'll have a nice dialup friendly mp3 for all to download.

just think Node on what side of the car is the DP/Turbo on

a "straight" exhaust from DP to the rear pass side
is the best flowing period!
Once again, this exhaust is a catback, it is not a custom turbo/header back exhaust.

The main reason I'm not really considering a custom exhaust is because of the cost.
And with catback, and then presilencers and all of that stuff, you can upgrade in stages, and find some less expensive exhausts that are of good quality.

BTW I'm downloading the video, 4% so far, 4.5KB/s, a little over 3 hours left :\

Big diffrence between stock back and the CS

The CS sounds real H.P sounding
Sporty like
Not annoying rattling like stock

Just had an interesting conversation with MINDTRAIN and BURNS STAINLESS. Sasically both conversations boiled down to:

Their will be NO measurable Difference in either flow or backpressure between a SINGLE CATBACK system that exits on the drivers side or the passenger side. There for the benefits of this "BOLT-ON" is the decreas in weight from ~7-16 to 1/2 the weight of the Y-Pipe and Muffler.

In another issue MINDTRAIN feels that a 3" tube OD (Please correct me if this size is incorrect) is too large of a diameter for proper exhaust scavenging action.

SOOO.... I still stand by my statement that the CORKSPORT CATBACK is not designed for the US market, but is imported to be as cheap as possible with no tooling/setup changes for this market.

So if you want a cheap catback that exits from the wrong side ( From a weight distribution standpoint) and has a primary diameter which is best suited for a TURBO vice a NA motor. Buy a corksport IMHO.

I changed header to catback in the previous post, I was talking headers at the time I was typing that.

My big question would be:

how much louder??? In the video the RB cat back sounds louder, and much more tinny, with the CS sounding much deeper, and slightly quieter.

But yet in the video, the girl and several others are commenting on how much louder the CS one is.

whats the real poop?

Thats my black TII parked up front in the video, so I will atest that the CS is MUCH!!!!! louder than the stock exhaust. They went for a drive after they shot the video wile I stayed at the house. I could hear him for almost the whole trip. The CS sounds a lot nicer than the stock but it is very loud. I'm going to try and take an SPL meter home with me so we can measure it. I'll have to ask Zeff (Xentrix) but I think his stock exhuast was 110db at idle.

Yeh, and the car is left heavy with driver......I think.

Hey, CS is only $300. $500 for the passenger side N1 and $700 for the driver side GT.
Is it my bad eyesight or does the CS exhaust have a small hole in the bottom of exhaust tip(pic from CS website)? Will one of those screw in silencers fit?
Stock Mazda mufflers cost how much? Even the shitty replacement mufflers cost too much.
And, around here, I haven't seen any exhaust shop pros bending much anymore. Everything is generic replacement bolt ins. The last time that I saw an exhaust shop use a tube bender was 15 years ago.

Just flip the CS upside-down and let it exit on the passenger side

I downloaded the .jpg.mpg and think that it sounds great but a little too loud. What else is the car running with the CS? Cats? Manifold or header? Stock? Intake? NA, right?.......
Did I miss the Greddy .jpg?

I would have been shot by the neighbors if I did that in front of my house.

Jeez some people can whine a lot about the little things. Weight? I'd rather have this exhaust dropped on my foot the the stock setup (if no other choices existed). The Corksport cat back is very, very lightweight compared to the stock setup. The stock junk must've been filled with lead. Not enough to make a difference at least. Drifters in Japan aren't that **** about a few pounds this way or that way in their cars. If that little bit of weight on that side of the car makes a difference, then skip the supersize soda and fries and lose some weight. Or just get a gel cell battery (as mentioned above) and relocate it to the passenger side behind the seat or in the bin. Problem solved. For the price you can't beat this setup. Yeah, I too wish it did exit on the passenger side. I looked around for one that did. Couldn't find anything near the price and quality of this unit that fit the bill. I'll survive. Now if I can just get a silencer for around town I'd be less paranoid. My setup is pretty loud. Most forum members in the NW Section that have heard it agree with that. No silencer or cats.

Once I can actually find an FC to buy I'll see if I can dyno test the CS cat-back. I've got access to cheap dyno time so I might see what I come up with.

Wow, total craziness w/ the headers, presilencer, stock exhaust and tips. sounds hilarious.
But the corksport sounds really nice
I'm assuming you had headers and pre-silencer on that setup also.
