Hey- I recently had my tranny swapped for another (90 rx7 gxl auto)..and after i got the car back the guy said i needed a modulator valve. Not sure what that is or who easy of a fix that is. If someone could shed some light on the situation that would be great. Thanks.

 

The FSM call it a vaccum diaphram, but most people call it a vaccum modulator. Mazdatrix sells them. Replaced mine and it cured white smoke out the exhaust.

 

There isnt any smoke coming out the exhaust, its just that the tranny still shifts wierd and the mechanic that did the swap said we needed to replace the vacumm modulator.
