Modified exhaust, need to ID and get rid of
I have this..."custom" exhaust setup. I need to determine what I'm gonna have to get to replace it and pass emissions. I know that I'll need the 3 cats but do I need to change the mufflers or with that Y-pipe work.
Pics are on a post in the NE section.

Thanks for the help

You have 1 cat, and as long as it is on working condition you should pass emissions just fine. You dont need all 3 unless they do a visual, and even then im not certain the tech would know you had 3 originally. Im not sure how VA emissions go, but if theyre anything like PA, you shouldnt have anything to worry about.
Try taking it to some place besides a dealer for inspection, just like a local garage. That thing sure as hell looks like a cat to me..

Here's what I got on my emissions. I figure either the cat is cloged or having the ACV put fresh air in there does a hellofva difference. I would like to replace it to pass emissions, I just need to know what I'm gonna be able to keep...or find someone who'll trade me for a stock system.

So you are saying that the split air pipe that goes from the ACV is not hooked up to your cat? If so that is most likely your problem. 1) This probably overheated your cat, causing it to basically melt, and be worthless now (2) The ACV does make a pretty dramatic difference on emissions, depending on whether the test was at idle, or at a certain elevated RPM.

Yes, that is the stock heatshield surrounding the manifold. There should be a line running from a nipple in the cat, all the way up to a split air pipe, then to the ACV. If this is not there, chances are your cat is melted. Post some pics of that area if possible, maybe we can help you out to as what is going on..

Well if you wanna pass emissions and get it over with, try doing a nice tune up (plugs wires air filter) and pouring the alcohol **** from pepboys in the gas tank. I know I recommend this in every emissions thread but its a hell of a lot cheaper then replacing your exhaust parts!

not only is the cat probably messed up, but the aux ports arent opening which = death of power in higher rpms

I was just going to ask about this. I didn't think they were but I was gonna wait until I fix one problem at a time before I asked another "Are my 5th and 6th ports working???" question. I'm gonna get under there tonight and get lots of pics cause I definatly want my power.
I have new plug wires but I'm not sure when the plugs have been changed and/or maintained?
