Question modification recommendations

After all of the initial tune-ups and fixes are done this week, I'd like to start modifying my car. In general, I don't want to get more serious than boltons. Basically, I want to get under my car, but keep it running

Currently (as i bought it for $1800):
1990 TII, 35k on engine
Cat-back 2.5" exhaust

Let's set a price cap of $1000

My ideas (in no particular order):
Intake (does it matter what kind?)
RB Downpipe/Presilencer (this would replace everything restrictive, right?)
FCD
Boost Controller (manual or electronic) only to straighten out and limit boost curve NOT RAISE IT... I heard electronic is the only way to go. If that's true, Apexi AVC-R?

Basically, I need opinions of these (and anything else) and the order I should do them in. Keep in mind... the car is my daily driver and should remain as reliable as possible.

Thanks again,

JackO

Fuel mods shouldnt be a problem with your current setup. If you begin to free up the exhaust even more you should get one along with the FCD. With the FCD you will need an aftermarket boost gauge since it tricks the ECU into thinking it is only running 8lbs to block fuel cut. After that an SAFC would be a good investment but should be dyno tuned.
